This Privacy Policy explains how Contango collects, uses, and protects personal information in connection with the Contango SMS program — the text-message service that participating grain elevators use to reach farmers who have opted in.

Information we collect

When you opt in to the Contango SMS program at a participating grain elevator, we collect and process:

• Your mobile phone number
• A timestamped record of your opt-in on our web form, including the IP address and browser details at the time you submitted it
• The messages sent to you and your replies (including STOP / HELP / START keywords)
• A timestamped record of any opt-out you initiate

Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties, affiliates, or lead generators for marketing or promotional purposes. We use this information only to operate the SMS program you opted in to and to evidence lawful consent if required.

Retention

We retain SMS consent and messaging records indefinitely. This is intentional — the primary function of these records is to provide a defensible audit trail for regulatory compliance (TCPA, state-level SMS regulations) and to respond accurately to any challenge to consent years after the fact. Opt-outs are state transitions on the consent record, not deletions; a STOP reply does not delete your opt-in history, but it does block further messaging immediately.

If you want your records deleted despite the retention policy above, contact support@contango.live and we'll evaluate the request in light of our legal retention obligations.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any SMS you receive from our program. You'll get a confirmation message and no further SMS will be sent through the Contango system. Message and data rates may apply.

Message frequency and rates

Message frequency varies; typically 1-4 messages per week during active trading, less outside of active trading windows. Message and data rates may apply.

Business customers

Contango provides its software platform to grain-elevator businesses. Those business customers are covered by the privacy and data-processing terms set out in their service agreement with Contango. This Privacy Policy governs the consumer-facing SMS program described above.
